Agree everything that could cause a fight later. Posting window, what each task is worth, usage, ad permissions, incentives and disclosure.

  1. Price every task, even inside a bundle.
Bundles and recurring work can earn a better rate. But you must price each task individually, so if a creator only partly delivers, we already know what’s owed. It also lets us report cost per piece, not just per creator. Then set each creator’s goals in the Humanz platform, based on what you’re paying them. If you priced them on the CPE benchmark, the engagement that price assumes is their goal, and they can track their progress against it in the app.
  2. Lock the posting window.
Especially for Scroll bursts. Confirm creators for the 24 to 48 hour window, in writing.
  3. Usage, buyouts and ad permissions.
Usage must cover the campaign’s duration. Price any extension per month. For commissioned UGC, agree a buyout, and write down exactly what it covers: which channels, which markets, and that it has no end date. Ad permissions on the creator’s handle must last as long as the paid plan needs them.
  4. Insights access.
Creators must share authorised insights, including retention data for long-form content. Ambassadors and long-term partners must also report brand DMs, questions, reactions and follows each month, with screenshots.
  5. Variable incentives, in writing and in the platform.
Write down what triggers the bonus, how it’s measured, and when it’s paid. Set it up in the Humanz platform too, so creators can see in the app what they need to hit to earn it.
  6. Disclosure.
Paid or gifted, the relationship must be disclosed clearly and upfront, on every post.

Disclosure, in every contract

Disclosure isn’t only the creator’s job. Build it into every brief and every contract, and only approve content that discloses clearly.

Every market has its own rules (the FTC in the US, the ASA in the UK).
